October 2023 Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Our first day at the Balloon Fiesta set the stage for the fun that was to come. As you can see the rig in the picture is not mine. I took mine in to have some things fixed and while it was in the shop the fuel pump went out. Other than the cost of renting a rig I was glad this didn't happen during the trip. We were up at 4:00am to arrive at the field for our hot air balloon ride. The ride was amazing and the landing was easy but the best part was exchanging rings and vows with this amazing guy. We were on the field that morning to see the drone show, dawn patrol, fly over, singing of the national anthem and to see the pilots do a candle stick burn. The red arrow shows where the rig was parked. We had free days and took a few trips to the Sandia Mountains. The first trip was a smooth twisting road, the second was a narrow, rocky dirt road.
