November & December 2023

I have totally dropped the ball where the blog is concerned.  
So this will be a two month download.

There is nothing better than setting with your man in a hunting blind.
The wild life put on a great show but there were no deer to be found.


I have learned one thing, I can't cook and take pictures at the same event.
We had some new additions at this years family event.  


I had some down time and walked around half of the OKC zoo.  It was a beautiful day and all the animals were out.  The doe was very friendly because she had been raised by a farmer and I think people were giving her treats at the fence.
 I will be getting a membership for the zoo.  There is so much to see.


In December we found our way out to the hunting camp a couple times.
It is a beautiful place no matter how cold it is.


Ken asked me what I wanted for my birthday.  I told him I wanted to see Christmas lights.  So we met up with John and Tammy for a Christmas party at the Indian Bike Shop in OKC.  They had a turkey & ham dinner with all the trimmings.  I was really good.  Then we all came back to the house for a few games of pool, then off to the lights.  The line to get into the park was so long but it was worth it.


Again, not many family pictures.  I was busy cooking the prime rib.  Actually it was a pretty easy meal.  Ember, Ken and I drove to Round Rock to see the city lights but they didn't have much of a show.  We decided to stop by downtown Georgetown.  It was worth the stop.
The deviled eggs are now Embers specialty dish.


Ken had never been to a food and beverage pairing.  So for my birthday we decided to try one.  BJ's did a really good job with the food and Ken made out because I am not a beer drinker.  In my defense I did try them all. 
I also won the wood Christmas tree.  I substituted on of the bulbs for one that Dad & Alice sent us.
 

The cardinal decided to fly into the wood shop while I was helping Ken.  


I am so glad I kept the tree decorations.

So far January has been pretty slow but it's going to pick 
up at the end of the month.  

It finally got cold here in OKC but the sun has been out almost every day.
Hopefully it will be a short winter like last year.

July started with a visit from Nate and Ember.  I think Ember enjoyed playing pool the most.  We look forward to having Athena join them on their next visit. It is getting HOT here so we try to ride early in the day. Took off with some friends early one Saturday. We stopped at a favorite place for food and then headed home for a few games of pool. We also did a rally with  Solo Elite Events, LLC .  They planned for short runs between stops. This group had some amazing give-a-ways and freebies.  The best part of the ride was the people we met. I took the new camera and shot over 100 photos for them.     That is our photo tour of July.   August will be busy.  We head out for a short vacation.  The rig will come back to OKC and get parked in it's new space.  I look forward to posting lots of pictures in the August Blog

  Ken got the quick intro to my family and friends. We started with my sister-in-laws.  It was nice to have Mary in from Florida. Next night was spent with my girl cousins and their spouses.  This month I said good-bye to Holiday Shores in Durand, MI.  So many years making memories with great friends.  I will still be visiting Michigan just not staying the whole summer. Ken got to meet my Blue Water RV'ers Family. This group is so much fun. The campout was at Turkeyville in Marshall, MI. Mike, the group fire starter. This is Knox.  The newest puppy in the Blue Water group. Ken had to leave Michigan early and get back to OKC.  I drove the rig and stayed at a couple new Harvest Hosts.  The first one was at the end of the Route 66 in Atlanta, IL.  I was right next to a train track but it wasn't bad.  I would come back here again. The next stop was Bold Spoon Creamery.  This place was beautiful and the hosts were amazing.  Flash, the puppy was my companion on a couple walks around

  June was filled with adventures, weddings and road trips with family. I had extra time to check out the Greenville area so I stopped by the  Garst Museum .  They have a few well know people from this area, Annie Oakley and Lowell Thomas are a couple. Click on the link to view the museums web site. I arrived back at Holiday Shores on June 11th for a short stay before the  family road trip.  The rig will stay in Michigan till August. I was in Michigan for three days.  I had time to do some shopping and have dinner with my oldest granddaughter Ella, then it was time for a family road trip to Manchester, Vermont for my nieces wedding.  The trip was great with my sister-in-law Linda and my great  nephew Camden riding along. I would like to introduce you to Kiki. No, she is not mine but I did get to  puppy set her while I was in Michigan. She is a doll! The map only shows the journey's in the RV.  The map would be a mess if I added all of my car trips.
